The Champagne Music Makers, guest stars, and Host, Barbara Mandrell, gather at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville in 1992 to pay tribute to Lawrence Welk, and to tell his "American Dream" story with music and reminiscences. The opening number, written especially for the program is a high spirited arrangement of "I'm On My Way" and "This Is My Country," sung by the Welk stars and Barbara Mandrell.
